#939 & #940 - A set of eduware by DLM about math. Thanks to 4am for the disks.
Disk structure
Both are standard ProDOS 3.5" disks but block 777 (or 778) cannot be read. When we boot a copy of our disks, they crash.
How to copy
Use ZZCopy or Photonix II to copy the disks. Then, store them in a dry and safe place.
When publishers modify the OS
I dislike when publishers hide their protection check in the ProDOS file. I always replace the ProDOS file with an original one from Apple. I mainly put v1.9 because I like it more than the others.
And this is what DLM did here: the modified the ProDOS file to execute a routine that is loaded starting from blocks $020C and executed at $0800. Grrr. That is not what I like!
You can easily realize that the protection is in the ProDOS file: type BYE and execute BASIC.SYSTEM or from BASIC, execute the startup file and you'll be able to play/learn/whatever. Grrr again!
How to crack
Launch the Finder or a disk utility program (Copy II Plus) and replace the ProDOS file from volumes /UTILITY and /GAME with another one. That is all and I will not do more!!!
The disks images are available at http://www.brutaldeluxe.fr/crack/
Reboot and... enjoy,
LoGo
